Job summary

Atlantic Health Overlook Medical Center in Summit, NJ is seeking a Patient Care Technician I on a per diem, variable shift basis. You will assist doctors and nursing staff to meet the basic needs of patients, including daily living activities and monitoring vital signs.

As part of a medical team, you will perform phlebotomy, EKGs, and blood glucose monitoring, while documenting patient status and communicating changes to the RN.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to operate as part of a team, alongside physicians and nurses.
• Proficiency in computer-based data management programs and information systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, feeding, and dressing.
• Obtain and record vital signs, weights, and heights.
• Assist with mobility, ambulation, transfers, and ROM activities.
• Perform post mortem care as assigned.
• Conduct EKGs, phlebotomy and blood glucose monitoring.
• Observe and report changes in patient condition to the RN.
• Maintain phlebotomy equipment and inventory.
• Other related duties as assigned.

Job Description

Responsible for assisting doctors/nursing staff in ensuring that the basic needs of each patient are met. Daily tasks might include things like feeding and cleaning the patient or monitoring vital signs and health.

Principal Accountabilities:

• Assists patients with activities of daily living including bathing, feeding, dressing
