Job summary

Methodist Dallas Medical Center is seeking a Patient Care Technician to assist with direct patient care under the supervision of licensed staff. You will support the patient, the nursing unit, and other healthcare professionals to ensure quality care and smooth unit operations.

The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and either CNA/MA program completion, nursing student progress, or relevant military medical experience, with BLS certification recommended.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent, Required
• 1 year experience as a nursing assistant or equivalent
• Graduate from a certified nursing assistant program or Certified Medical Assistant program
• Nursing student in first semester or military medic experience may be considered
• EMT Certification/Paramedic License

Job Purpose

• The Patient Care Technician under the direction of the professional staff, assists with patient care to provide support to the patient, nursing unit and professional staff.

Job Requirements:

Education:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent, Required
• 1 year experience as a nursing assistant in a comparable healthcare facility Or
• Graduate from a certified nursing assistant program Or
• Certified Medical Assistant program Or
• Nursing student who documents completion of the first semester of a Nursing Program Or
• Documented military experience as a medic/corpsman Or
• Foreign Nursing graduate not currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the U.S Or
• EMT Certification/Paramedic License

Licenses and/or Certifications:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification, Required
