Adventist Health Ukiah Valley is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the day shift, full-time. You will observe cardiac monitors, document rhythm strips, and provide personal patient care under RN supervision.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED (preferred), plus BLS certification. Prior medical secretary/receptionist experience is also preferred as you manage charts and clerical tasks on the unit.

Job Description

Job Summary:

Performs a variety of duties involving the observation of cardiac monitors, interpretation and documentation of Cardiac Rhythm strips. Provides personal patient care under the supervision of the Registered Nurse (RN).

Job Requirements:

Education and Work Experience:

• High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred
• Medical secretary/receptionist experience: Preferred

Licenses/Certifications:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) American Heart Association: Required

Facility Specific License/Certifications:

• Basic Life Support (BLS)certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required

Essential Functions:

• Assists with patient care activities, as needed, under the guidance of the Charge Nurse or shift leader. Maintains work area(s) and equipment through cleaning, stocking and ordering of supplies.
• Takes and records vital signs, including pain scale according to established policies and procedures.
• Performs clerical duties, including chart management and maintaining unit supplies and forms. Manages front desk, assembling and maintaining medical charts.
• Maintains work area(s) and equipment through cleaning, stocking and ordering of supplies.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
