Job summary

Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center is hiring a Patient Care Technician for the Third/Nights shift. You will provide patient care, assist with ADLs, monitor vital signs, perform phlebotomy, POC testing, EKGs, IV removal, specimens, and Foley catheter procedures under RN supervision.

Qualifications include HS Diploma, CNA/NCMA/NCPCT certifications, and current clinical experience. BLS certification is required and Sentara offers competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or Equivalent (Required).
• Sentara Care Partner Certification Program.
• Successful completion of the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).
• National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA).
• National Patient Care Technician (NCPCT).
• Completion of US Navy Hospital Corps School.
• Emergency Services certifications (EMR, EMS, EMT, AEMT, Paramedic).
• Current student enrolled in a clinical program with at least one RN/LPN/RT/PT semester completed.
• Current work experience within last 3 years as a PCT or Nursing Assistant.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care and assist with activities of daily living.
• Monitor and record vital signs, mobility and safety support.
• Perform phlebotomy, point-of-care testing and EKG as directed.
• Assist with Foley catheter insertion/removal and specimen collection.
• Document observations and report changes promptly to the RN.

Position Overview

Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center is hiring a Patient Care Technician - Flexi NIGHTS. The Patient Care Technician provides patient care, support independent and dependent activities of daily living, vital signs, mobility and ambulation, phlebotomy, point of care testing, EKG testing, peripheral IV removal, specimen collection, and foley catheter insertion and removal, and complies with patient safety practices under the direction of the professional RN nurse. Observe patients' physical, mental, and emotional conditions and document in a timely and accurate manner while reporting any change to the nurse or medical staff.

Education
