Job summary

HCA Houston Healthcare Southeast is seeking a Patient Care Technician EMT to join the care team in Pasadena, TX. You will support Registered Nurses with hands-on patient care, monitor vitals, assist with mobility and daily activities, and help maintain a safe and compassionate environment for patients.

The role emphasizes teamwork, attention to detail, and a commitment to patient comfort as part of a leading healthcare system. No travel required; full-time position in an acute-care setting.

Qualifications

• BLS certification must be obtained within 6 months of start date.
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certification must be obtained within 6 months of start date.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Paramedic or EMT or EMT-State certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient preparation, mobility, transfers and comfort to support smooth care and recovery.
• Provide non-medicated care such as dressing changes and skin protection.
• Keep patient areas and common spaces clean, organized and stocked to maintain safety and efficiency.
• Manage supplies, equipment and logs to support infection control and team readiness.
• Communicate kindly with patients, families and the care team to support safety and quality.

You'll assist with daily needs such as vital signs, mobility, and personal care, while helping RNs monitor conditions and carry out care plans. Your responsibilities will include:

• Keeping patient areas and common spaces clean, organized, and stocked to maintain safety and efficiency

• Communicating kindly with patients, families, and the care team to support safety and quality

What qualifications you will need:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
• High School Graduate / GED
• Paramedic, or (EMT) Emergency Medical Technician, or (EMT-State) Emergency Medical Technician
