Job summary

Temple Health – Temple University Health System is seeking a Nursing Assistant to provide direct and indirect patient care under the guidance of a registered nurse.

Responsibilities include measuring vitals, assisting with daily living activities, and supporting the care plan; requires high school diploma and completion of CNA/MA training; Basic Life Support required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Completion of Nurses Aide or Medical Assistant Training and Competency Evaluation program required.
• EMT training or Nursing student with Nursing 101 rotation experience considered.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect patient care under RN guidance.
• Assist with plan-of-care execution and basic procedures.
• Measure vitals, perform ECGs, venipuncture, and IV placement.
• Capillary glucose testing and other routine tasks as assigned.
• Support Unit Secretary, Patient Transport and Environment of Care duties.

Job description

Provides direct and indirect patient care duties under the guidance and direction of the registered nurse. Responsible for implementing components of the plan of care through the initiation/completion of procedures relating to basic human, mental health and social needs; comfort, safety and emergency measures; activities of daily living; personal care needs; nutrition and fluid needs; and elimination needs. Measures vitals signs, performs ECGs, venipuncture, IV placement, capillary blood glucose testing, and Unit Secretary, Patient Transport and Environment of Care duties.

Education

• High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
• Other Successful completion of Nurses Aide or Medical Assistant Training and Competency Evaluation program, EMT training program or Nursing student with satisfactory completion of Nursing 101 clinical or equivalent clinical rotation Required

Experience

• 1 year experience in a related patient care role Preferred

Licenses

• Basic Life Support Required
