Job summary

Vaughan Regional Medical Center in Selma, AL, seeks a compassionate CNA to provide direct patient care and assist with activities of daily living in a 175-bed hospital. The role requires routine vital signs, accurate documentation, and collaboration with the nursing team.

Under supervision of an RN, you will support admissions, transfers and discharges, maintain patient room cleanliness, and respond promptly to patient needs, contributing to a safe and healing environment.

Qualifications

• Fluent reading, writing and speaking English required.
• Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Able to organize tasks, develop action plans, set priorities and function under stress.
• Maintain good working relationships within and across departments.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living.
• Consult with supervisor on unit activities, needs and problems related to patient care.
• Provide basic care to non-acutely ill patients.
• Perform routine patient care tasks and support RN/LPN as directed.
• Record vital signs accurately and document timely.
• Prepare patient rooms for admission and transfers and ensure equipment is ready.
• Assist in admission, transfer and discharge procedures.
• Respond to patient call lights and paging system promptly.
• Assist with routine treatment procedures under RN supervision.
