Job summary

The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center is seeking a Certified Hemodialysis Technician for our Dialysis Unit. The role requires a high school diploma and dialysis experience; CNA on hire is acceptable. Day shift, 10 hours, with alternating weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Provide patient care services as assigned by a registered nurse.
  • Contribute to patient comfort and overall outcomes of care.
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to identify and address patient needs.
  • Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), patient mobilization, and admit/discharge processes.
  • Obtain and record vital signs.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly patient environment.
  • Support the assigned care team.

Job description

Our Dialysis Unit has 55 beds and 230 employees; the dialysis unit at MD Anderson provides patient focused care through a multidisciplinary team approach. Quality and patient outcomes are at the heart of our practice. The ICU team participates in Evidence Based Practice, unit and hospital-based committees, and local and national conferences.

Ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma and Certified Hemodialysis Technician with at least 2 years of Dialysis experience.

Working Hours: The working hours will be Day shift - 10 hrs. per shift, alternating weekends and holidays.

Job Competencies
  • Provides patient care services as assigned by a registered nurse

  • Acts as an active member of the assigned care team
Education
  • Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
Work Experience
  • Required: None
  • Preferred: At least 2 years of Dialysis experience
Licenses and Certifications
  • Preferred: Certified Dialysis Technician
  • CNA - Certified Nursing Assistant on hire

Other Requirements: Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources.
