Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a compassionate health care assistant to collaborate with an inpatient nursing team and support patient care in a busy hospital setting.

You will help develop and maintain care plans, assist with daily activities, ensure patient safety, and complete documentation. A high school diploma or GED is required, 0–1 years of experience, basic computer skills, and influenza vaccination is required. Training is provided and opportunities for advancement exist.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 0-1 years related work experience required.
• Basic familiarity with computers. Ability to navigate at a basic level within web-based applications.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with a registered nurse on developing a patient's care plan.
• Develops and maintains competencies as delegated by a registered nurse.
• Maintains the safety of patients who have been identified at risk for preventable injury by the implementation of nursing safety interventions or the use of protective devices/equipment under the supervision of the registered nurse.
• Reports all patient activity to the registered nurse in a timely manner.
