Job summary

ClearSky Health is seeking a Certified Nurses Aide to provide direct bedside care under the supervision of RNs on the night shift. This full-time position emphasizes patient safety, comfort, and adherence to infection prevention standards.

The role includes taking and documenting vital signs, assisting with activities of daily living, transferring patients, and maintaining clean, safe rooms. Requires CNA certification, current BLS, a HS diploma or GED, and 2 years of inpatient hospital

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• 2 years of inpatient hospital experience required; inpatient rehabilitation experience preferred.
• Current state CNA certification required.
• Current AHA/ARC BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Prioritizes and delivers basic patient care, including bathing, toileting, feeding, grooming, etc.
• Performs and documents vital signs, intake/output, weights, and specimen collections.
• Transfers patients using proper body mechanics and safe patient handling techniques.
• Reports changes in condition or behavior to nursing personnel.
• Maintains patient rooms and beds in a clean, safe condition.
• Adheres to infection prevention standards and safety protocols.

Certified Nurses Aide

working under the direct supervision of Registered Nurse, is primarily responsible for providing direct, non-invasive bedside care to patients. This position must integrate company values into daily practice. This is a fulltime, night shift position.

Essential Functions

• Prioritizes and delivers basic patient care, including bathing, toileting, feeding, grooming, etc.
• Performs and documents vital signs, measures and records intake and output, weights, specimen collections, etc.
• Transfers patients utilizing proper body mechanics and safe patient handling techniques.
• Reports any changes observed in condition or behavior of patient to appropriate nursing personnel.
• Assists in preparing unit, patient rooms, and patient beds for receiving patient admissions.
• Maintains bed and room in a clean, neat, safe, and comfortable manner.
• Removes supplies and equipment not in use; placing furnishings and equipment out of the path in order to provide a safe, neat, and organized area.
• Adheres to patient rounding expectations and standards.
• Assists in maintaining a physical, social, and psychological environment conducive to providing maximal patient comfort and optimizing healing.
• Promptly and appropriately responds to patient and family calls and requests.
• Appropriately designates applicable charges to individual patients using hospital’s established system.
• May be required to work during inclement weather and other staffing emergencies.
• Provides an environment conducive to safety for patients, visitors, and staff.
• Assesses environmental risks for safety and implements appropriate precautions.
• Complies with appropriate and approved safety and Infection Prevention standards.
• Maintains regular attendance in keeping with assigned work schedule.
• Performs other duties as assigned to support overall effectiveness of the organization.

Minimum Job Requirements

Minimum Education & Experience

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• 2 years of experience in inpatient hospital setting required, inpatient rehabilitation experience preferred.

Required Licenses, Certifications, and/or Documentation

• Current state CNA certification required (for CNA).
• Current AHA/ARC BLS certification required.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Knowledge of current clinical operations and procedures.
• Demonstrates knowledge of appropriate Infection Prevention and proper body mechanics.
• Demonstrates general computer skills including data entry, word processing, email, and records management.

Physical Requirements Over the Course of a Shift

• A significant amount of standing, walking, bending, reaching, carrying, lifting, pushing, and pulling, often for prolonged periods of time.
• Both gross and precise motor functions.
• Lifting/exerting of up to 50 lbs.
• Possible exposure to bodily fluids.
• Visual acuity required for patient assessment and documentation of care.
• Acute hearing required for accurate patient assessment.
• Sufficient manual dexterity to operate equipment and computer keyboard.
• Close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
