Job summary

McLaren Health Care in Michigan seeks a dedicated aide to support patient care on the Behavioral Health Unit. You’ll work under the supervision of a nurse, performing routine tasks and assisting with daily activities to promote patient well‑being.

The role includes night shifts (7pm–7:30am), a full-time schedule, and a benefits package. Prior care experience is preferred, with mandatory BLS within 30 days of hire and a high school diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire (AHA/ARC or Canadian equivalent).
• CENA training and direct care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs specific patient care interventions as delegated by the RN.
• Delivers compassionate support to patients and families.
• Assists with daily activities and personal hygiene for patients.
• Ensures HIPAA/OSHA compliance and maintains a safe environment.
• Performs other related duties as requested.

Responsibilities

• Performs specific patient care interventions as delegated by the RN in effort to identify/attain treatment goals.
• Delivers compassionate support, attention, and assistance to patients and families.
• Provides physical support for patients with daily activities and personal hygiene, including bathing, showering, feeding, dressing, getting out of bed, using the toilet, walking, standing or exercising.
• Ensures compliance with all health care regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment and protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control, hazardous waste and other policies and protocols.
• Performs other related job duties as requested.

Required

• High school diploma or equivalent .
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire. Certification must be issued by the American Heart Association (AHA), American Red Cross (ARC), or Canadian equivalent.

Preferred

• Prior experience in direct care preferred.
• CENA training
• Prior experience obtained through clinical nursing rotation relevant to the specific work area.
