Job summary

AdventHealth in WAUCHULA, FL is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) for PRN, 24-hour shifts. You will assist with delivering patient care under RN supervision and help maintain a safe, clean environment.

Required is a High School Diploma; preferred is 1+ PCT experience and certs (CNA/CPCT/A/EMT/BLS). Florida Level 2 background screening may be required. Equal opportunity employer.

• Performs patient care under supervision, with effective communication to patients and team.
• Follows safety rules and isolation guidelines, maintains a clean environment.
• Willingness to learn and upgrade skills continuously.

Responsibilities

• Performs treatments according to policy and procedure, providing patient care appropriate to age, mobility, acuity, and culture.
• Functions appropriately in clinical emergencies.
• Participates in practice changes resulting from performance improvement activities and supports quality standards and initiatives.
• Follows prescribed isolation guidelines, demonstrates appropriate use of protective equipment, performs handwashing according to policy, and enforces safety regulations.
• Exhibits a desire to learn and upgrades skills continuously.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members. Maintains a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
• Assists in the delivery of patient care as a team member under the direction of a registered nurse.
• Documents and reports all procedures in accordance with department policy. Participates in obtaining a nursing history and reports abnormalities to the registered nurse.
• Assists in identifying patient needs
• Other duties as assigned.
