Job summary

Highland Hospital in Rochester, NY, is recruiting for experienced Patient Care Techs (PCT 2) to join the Emergency Department team. The role includes rotating day/evening/night shifts, weekends, and holidays with 4–5 week orientation. Direct patient care under RN supervision and precepting new staff are key duties.

The pay range is $21.00–$27.26 per hour. Full- or part-time positions are available with 20–40 hours per week, and employment supports orientation and ongoing patient care duties.

Qualifications

• GED or High School Diploma required.
• At least 1 year of healthcare experience providing direct personal care and interaction with patients in an acute care or long term care setting.

• Measure and document patient vital signs.
• Maintain, measure, and document output from drainage systems (urinary, gastric, wound).

Highland Hospital a 261 bed community teaching hospital and affiliate of the University Of Rochester Medical Center is recruiting for experienced Patient Care Techs to join our team. Qualified candidates must be able to work rotating day/evening/night shifts, including every other weekend and 50% of the holidays on a full or part time basis. Position does require a 4 to 5 week orientation where you must be able to work any day / any shift.
The Patient Care Technician 2 (PCT 2) will support and provide direct patient care on the nursing unit. The PCT plays an integral role in the physical and emotional comfort of patients and their families. The PCT provides direct patient care and completes other tasks to support patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse.
Essential duties of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
