Job summary

Wolfe Surgery Center in West Des Moines, IA is seeking a full-time Patient Care Technician. You will blend clinical and clerical duties, including chart preparation, data entry, and assisting with OR room turnover. You will obtain vital signs and perform EKGs, under nursing supervision, and help with admissions/discharges as needed.

The role requires at least one year of medical experience and early-morning availability; daytime hours, M-F schedule, and benefits are provided by the organization.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assemble patient charts and discharge packets.
• Disassemble charts after discharge.
• Enter data into patient records; update physician contacts for H&P information.
• Assist patients with restrooms and mobility; transport as needed.
• Take vital signs and report results to nursing staff; perform EKG when needed.
• In coordination with the OR, assist with room setup and turnovers; transport patients.
• Maintain clean, disinfected stretchers, chairs, and surfaces; manage waste and linen.
