Job summary

Dignity Health – Yavapai Regional Medical Center in Prescott, AZ is seeking a Nursing Assistant to support patients with daily living activities, monitor comfort, and collaborate with the nursing team to deliver high-quality care.

You will conduct hourly rounds on 8–10 patients, document vital signs, assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers, and uphold hospital protocols while remaining patient-focused and eager to learn and grow in a caregiving environment.

Qualifications

  • Documentation of successful completion of a Nursing Assistant training program or EMT program, or completion of first block of nursing program.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support certificate.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct hourly rounds on approximately 8 to 10 patients, checking vitals, maintaining whiteboard information, and assisting with care as needed.
  • Collaborates with RN in implementation of plan.
  • Assists patients with activities of daily living according to standards of care and hospital protocol.
  • Reports significant observed or reported alterations in the patient condition.
  • Assists with patient admission, discharge and transfer.

As our Nursing Assistant, you will help our patients navigate their hospital stay by assisting them with basic activities of daily living and closely monitoring their physical comfort so they can feel safer, more comfortable, and supported throughout their healing journey.

Every day you will diligently manage essential patient care tasks, which includes checking vital signs and changing bed linens. You will be expected to remain highly observant of changes in a patient's condition, maintain a proactive workflow, and collaborate closely with the nursing team to ensure high-quality care.

To be successful in this role, you must possess a genuine desire to help others feel better, accept feedback and coaching well, and demonstrate a strong eagerness to continuously learn and grow as a care provider.

Job Requirements
Required
  • Documentation of successful completion of a Nursing Assistant training program or EMT program, or completion of first block of nursing program
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support certificate
Preferred
  • Two (2) years experience as an NA in an acute care hospital setting
  • AZ CNA License
  • Emergency Medical Technician: AZ (EMT:AZ)
