University of Mississippi Medical Center seeks a Patient Care Technician for its Grenada Emergency Department. The incumbent will provide direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse, monitor vital signs, assist with procedures, and support everyday patient needs with compassion.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, nursing aide training or CNA certification, and BLS/CPR within 3 months of hire. The position is full-time, on-site, in Grenada, MS.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required with 2+ years direct patient care experience or equivalent training.
  • CNA or Nursing Aide program approved by state health department or UMMC externship/training accepted.
  • BLS/CPR certification required post-hire within 3 months.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care under RN supervision.
  • Monitor vital signs and assist with procedures.
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living and mobility.
  • Perform point-of-care testing and transport specimens as needed.
