Job summary

Transylvania Regional Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Technician to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care under the supervision of an RN. You will assist with daily living activities, mobility, and comfort while ensuring a clean and safe care environment.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, CNA certification, and BCLS within 30 days. Prior healthcare experience is preferred. This position is based at Transylvania Regional Hospital in Brevard, NC.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of start date.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) required.
• Preferred: 1+ year(s) in a healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with patient preparation, mobility, transfers and comfort to support care and recovery.
• Providing non-medicated care such as dressing changes and skin protection.
• Keeping patient areas clean, organized and stocked to maintain safety and efficiency.
• Managing supplies, equipment and logs to support infection control and team readiness.
• Communicating with patients, families and the care team to support safety and quality.

Job Summary And Qualifications

Role Summary: The Patient Care Technician (PCT) delivers high quality, patient-centered care by performing a variety of delegated basic patient care services related to common nursing functions and activities of daily living. Under the supervision of the registered nurse (RN), the PCT assists the nursing staff in providing patient care in accordance with the PCT’s skills/training and the needs of the Department, and consistently assists the patient care team with maintaining a clean, well-organized, and safe patient care environment. The PCT complies with all hospital policies/procedures and observes the State Board of Nursing rules for unlicensed personnel.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting with patient preparation, mobility, transfers, and comfort to support smooth care and recovery
• Providing non-medicated care such as dressing changes, skin protection, and use of supportive devices
• Keeping patient areas and common spaces clean, organized, and stocked to maintain safety and efficiency
• Managing supplies, equipment, and logs to support infection control and team readiness
• Communicating kindly with patients, families, and the care team to support safety and quality
  

What qualifications you will need:

• Required Education: High School Diploma or GED
• Required License: Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Required License: (CNA) Certified Nursing Assistant
• Preferred Experience: 1+ years in a healthcare setting
