Job summary

Rochester Regional Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Medsurg-Ransom unit in Batavia, NY. The role supports direct patient care under RN supervision and helps with unit operations, patient mobility, and safety tasks.

The position requires an 18+ year old candidate with CNA, Nursing Fundamentals, or related health facility training and an Associates degree. Evening, night, and weekend shifts are included, with a pay range of $19–$21 per hour.

Qualifications

• Completion of Nursing Fundamentals, CNA certification, or equivalent health facility experience.
• Associates degree is preferred.
• Experience as a medical assistant/technician or PCT training program is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and indirect activities to facilitate unit functioning.
• Participate as a member of the care delivery team.
• Provide safe and competent care for patients including nutrition, skin integrity, elimination & hygiene needs.
• Take patient vital signs (temp, pulse, respirations, BP, pain).
• Demonstrate excellent communication and compassion to patients and families.
• Collaborate with care delivery team to ensure smooth operations.
• Assist with ambulation, feeding, transferring or lifting of patients.
• Assist with admission, discharge and transfer of patients.
• Stock rooms and, on the OR field, may handle meds, sharps and syringes.

Employees perform frequent bending, twisting, and reaching while completing fine motor tasks in busy or confined clinical environments. High sensory acuity is essential for monitoring patient status and responding to alarms or safety concerns. Environmental exposures include infectious agents, bodily fluids, chemicals, and radiation.
