Job summary

Grand Strand Medical Center is seeking a Patient Care Technician to join our nursing team in Myrtle Beach, SC. You will assist Registered Nurses with patient care, vital signs, mobility, and daily living activities while maintaining a safe, welcoming environment.

Your role emphasizes teamwork, empathy, and precise communication to support care plans and patient comfort every day.

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Previous patient care experience is required.
• Must be available to work 12-hour NIGHT shifts with rotating weekends.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient preparation, mobility, transfers, and comfort to support care and recovery.
• Provide non-medicated care such as dressing changes, skin protection, and use of supportive devices.
• Keep patient areas and common spaces clean, organized, and stocked to maintain safety and efficiency.
• Manage supplies, equipment, and logs to support infection control and team readiness.
• Communicate kindly with patients, families, and the care team to support safety and quality.

Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Patient Care Technician (PCT), you will be a vital part of our collaborative nursing team, supporting Registered Nurses in providing hands-on care and helping create a safe, welcoming environment for patients.
