Job summary

Texas Health Resources is seeking a Patient Care Tech (PCT) for the Post Acute Rehab unit in Dallas. This full-time, day-shift role supports nursing staff by delivering fundamental patient care, assisting with activities of daily living, and ensuring safety and comfort for patients.

Applicants should have a high school diploma, a PCT-related training or THR-approved program, and BCLS/CPI certifications. EMTs or nursing students with relevant experience are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or Equivalent required.
• One year experience in Med Surg or Rehab preferred.
• PCT Training Program or THR approved program required or upon hire.
• BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to independent patient care and maintained quarterly.
• CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training maintained annually 90 days required.
• Possesses organizational skills and good verbal and written communication.
• Nursing students or EMTs may continue if they have demonstrated PCT skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic patient care under nursing supervision.
• Perform activities of daily living: feed, bathe, dress, groom, move patients and change linens.
• Transfer or transport patients as needed.
• Maintain safe patient environment and assist with care activities.
• Document duties and collaborate with nurses to meet patient needs.

Education

High School Diploma or Equivalent

EMT - Emergency Medical Technician

BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support

CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention

PCT Training Program or THR approved program

Nursing student or EMTs with demonstrated PCT skills

Another 1 year of applicable experience in lieu of certification
