Job summary

The Medical University of South Carolina is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to support nursing staff under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, providing multi-skilled patient care in a decentralized, patient-centered model.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, BLS certification, and the ability to work rotating shifts for 12 hours per week. Preference given to candidates with healthcare experience or enrollment in nursing-related programs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• One of the following: Associate or Bachelor's degree or relevant healthcare experience.
• Active enrollment in nursing or healthcare-related field may qualify.
• CNA/CMA certification from an accredited institution preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide multi-skilled support under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Assist with patient care tasks in a decentralized patient-centered care model.
• Maintain safety and documentation per hospital policies and procedures.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent

Associate or Bachelor's degree

1 year work experience in a .6 FTE PCT I position at MUSC CHS

1 year of experience in a healthcare facility

Active enrollment in nursing school with completion of Nursing Fundamentals from an accredited institution

Active enrollment in a healthcare related field from an accredited institution

Certified Nursing Assistant or Certified Medical Assistant Certification from an accredited institution
