Job summary

Endeavor Health's Elmhurst Main Hospital Campus is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Pulmonary Medicine Unit. This part-time position (24 hours per week) supports RNs and delivers essential patient care to a higher acuity population.

You'll perform tasks per established procedures, maintain patient comfort and safety, and collaborate with a skilled team. CPR certification and prior patient care experience are required, with opportunities for growth and competitive shift incentives.

Qualifications

• CPR certification required by American Heart Association.
• Successful completion of an accredited nursing assistant training course or minimum six months of patient care experience or equivalent.
• Completion of care Companion Course within six months of hire when required by department.

Responsibilities

• Under RN direction, performs patient care tasks and procedures to ensure comfort and safety of patients.
• Assist with daily patient care activities and maintain clinical standards.

Hourly Pay Range:

$18.84 - $27.32 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights:

• Position : Patient Care Technician - Pulmonary Medicine Unit - higher acuity patient population
• Location : Elmhurst Main Hospital Campus - 155 E. Brush Hill Rd., Elmhurst, IL 60126
• Part Time : 24 hours per week
• Hours :7am-7pm with every 3rd weekend and holiday track

What you will do:

The Patient Care Tech, under the directions of a Registered Nurse (RN) and, according to established procedures, performs patient care tasks and patient care procedures necessary to provide for the care, comfort and safety of patients.

What you will need:

• Education: N/A
• Certification: Current CPR Certification issued by American Heart Association
• Experience: Successful completion of an accredited nursing assistant training course or minimum six months of previous patient care experience or equivalent or completion of one nursing clinical rotation
• Successful completion of care Companion Course within six months of hire when course is required by the department.
• Unique or Preferred Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills including teamwork, ability to prioritize, ability to receive and follow through on directions.
