Job summary

TriStar Southern Hills Medical Center is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) PRN. The role supports nursing staff by delivering basic patient care and assisting with daily living activities under RN supervision.

Required: high school diploma or GED, CNA certification or PCT experience, and BLS within 30 days. Prior PCT experience is preferred. This position emphasizes compassionate, patient-centered care in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CNA certification or documented PCT experience required.
• Completion of State approved CNA course or CNA certificate acceptable.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of employment start date.
• 1 year of PCT experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide age-appropriate patient care under RN supervision.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment.
• Communicate pertinent information to the care team.
• Deliver compassionate, holistic care respecting patient rights and dignity.
• Document patient care activities in the designated systems.
• Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADL) for assigned patients.

Job Summary And Qualifications

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) delivers high quality, patient-centered care by performing a variety of delegated basic patient care services related to common nursing functions and activities of daily living. Under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, the PCT assists the nursing staff in providing patient care in accordance with the PCT’s skills/training and the needs of the department, and consistently assists the patient care team with maintaining a clean, well-organized, and safe patient care environment. The PCT complies with all hospital policies/procedures and observes the State Board of Nursing rules for unlicensed personnel.

What you will do in this role:

• Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate care for patient populations served in his/her department.
• Maintain a safe environment.
• Communicate pertinent information to appropriate individuals.
• Deliver compassionate, holistic care, while supporting the rights and dignity of all patients.
• Document patient care information in the appropriate computer screens.
• You will assist with ADL’s for assigned patients.

What qualifications you will need:

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• State Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification or documented Patient Care Tech (PCT) experience required.
• Can be former RN Nursing student who has successfullycompleted the first nursing clinical semester orCompletion of State approved CNA course,or CNA certificate.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of employment start date.
• 1 year of PCT experience preferred.
