Job summary

Tenet Healthcare is seeking a Patient Care Tech I to support nursing staff in daily patient care and comfort tasks in a hospital setting. The role involves assisting with personal hygiene, taking vital signs, and helping with linens and meal services.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, no mandatory experience, and is prepared to obtain BLS and CPI certifications within the stated timelines after hire. This is a full-time day shift position.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• No prior experience required; acute care experience preferred.
• Current Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (ARC or AHA) required; ARC users must obtain AHA within 60 days.
• CPI Certification required within 90 days of hire/transfer.
• Preferred clerical or customer service experience and HUC training/experience in a clinical setting.
• Ability to operate computer-driven patient care equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing staff with patient care and comfort.
• Take vital signs and help with personal hygiene.
• Change bed linens and handle meals and nourishment.
• Prepare, sterilize, store, and supply patient care items.

Job Shift: Days Job Type: Full Time The Patient Care Tech I assists nursing service personnel with a variety of patient care activities and related services necessary in caring for the personal needs and comfort of patients. Assists with personal hygiene, takes vital signs, and changes bed linens. May serve and collect food trays, provide for between-meal nourishment, and clean, sterilize, store, and prepare other supplies. Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.

MINIMUM EDUCATION:

• Required- High School Diploma or GED

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:

• Required-None
• Preferred-Acute care and/or previous clinical experience

REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:

• Current Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (American Red Cross or American Heart Association)
• if American Red Cross, must obtain American Heart Association within 60-days of hire
• Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) Certification within 90-days of hire/transfer

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, and ABILITIES:

• Preferred: Prior basic experience performing clerical or customer service duties with prior HUC training/experience in a clinical setting
• Ability to use computer driven patient care equipment
