Job summary

Texas Health Alliance in Fort Worth, TX is hiring a Patient Care Tech (PCT) for the Med Surg Unit 2N. The role is full-time, day shift (7a–7p), with 36 hours per week, offering benefits and growth opportunities.

The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma or GED and current TX CNA/PCT training or equivalent certification. Prior PCT experience is preferred, with BCLS and CPI training required soon after hire.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Current TX CNA or PCT training with NHA/NAHP/NCCT or THR-approved program.
• EMT TX certification or military medical training could be acceptable.
• 1 year PCT experience preferred.
• BCLS training prior to independent care.
• CPI training within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients according to plan of care.
• Collect patient data and report findings to nurse.
• Assist in admission/transfer/discharge.
• Support activities of daily living for patients.
• Perform technical procedures safely and accurately.
• Document care provided and actions taken.
• Collaborate with nursing staff to adapt care to patient population and beliefs.
• Maintain a clean, safe patient environment and anticipate needs.

What You Will Do

Provides assistance to patient according to plan of care.

• Collects patient data, identifies and reports significant findings to nurse.
• Assists in admission/transfer/discharge.
• Provides and Revises patient activities of daily living based on patient/family preferences.
• Performs technical procedures safely and proficiently.
• Takes action to reduce or eliminate patient risk.
• Enters orders into computer or manual system if applicable.
• Documents accurately and appropriately.
• In collaboration/consultation with the nurse, adapts care to reflect patient population.
• In collaboration/consultation with nurse, incorporates cultural/religious needs and beliefs into delivery of care.
• Keeps patient environment clean and maintains safe environment.
• Anticipates patient/family and visitor needs and takes action to meet those needs and rounds as appropriate

Here’s What You Need

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)
• CLIAFE - Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency required, if applicable.
• Current TX CNA or PCT training with NHA, NAHP or NCCT or an accredited community college program or a THR approved program or
• Current EMT for TX or
• Military experience with medical training equivalent (Equivalent to EMT-B) or
• 1 year of applicable PCT experience in lieu of an active and approved certification or
• Nursing student who has completed fundamentals or foreign nurse degree program.
• Previous PCT experience is preferred.
• BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly
• CPI - Crisis Prevention and Intervention Training within 60 days of hire required.
