Job summary

Ardent Health Services in Tulsa, OK seeks a day shift, part-time Float Pool Patient Care Technician (PCT). This role supports nursing staff with ADLs, vital signs, specimen collection, patient transport, and basic housekeeping, under supervision.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, BLS within 14 days of hire, and cross-coverage ability across hospital services. CNA/PCT certification or paramedic training is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with daily activities under supervision.
• Observe patients and relay reports to RN or staff.

• Assist with intake/output measurements and ROM assistance.

Learn About a Day in the Life of a PCT:

• Works under moderate supervision of nursing and medical staff to perform all duties of a PCT, which include assisting patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, eating, and other ADLs.
• Observes patients’ progress to prepare and disseminate reports to Registered Nurse or other medical staff.
• Obtains and records patients' vital signs and collects specimens for lab tests.
• Provides basic patient transport and housekeeping duties.
• Measures and records patients' intake and output and other measurements in accordance with unit routines, assists patients with range of motion, and draws blood.

Job Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• Competent to perform in at least two general areas of practice (cross trained and cross competent to cover more than one hospital service, role, or function).

Preferred Job Requirements:

• Completion of approved CNA, PCT or paramedic certification or currently enrolled in nursing school.
• Minimum of two years of experience in acute or long-term care.
• Demonstrated proficiency in phlebotomy.
