Job summary

White Oak Medical Center seeks to hire an experienced Patient Care Technician for our 8S Observation/General Surgery unit. The role involves assisting with vital signs and daily living activities under an RN, following the care plan, and participating in education and safety initiatives.

White Oak Medical Center seeks to hire an experienced Patient Care Technician for our 8S Observation/General Surgery who will embrace our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing.

As a Patient Care Technician, you will:
  • Perform various service duties and routine technical tasks such as vital signs and activities of daily living under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
  • Specific duties may vary by area of assignment.
  • Consideration of the special needs and behaviors of specific patient populations is required.
  • Participate in department and organizational education programs, meetings, committees, and professional initiatives
  • Commit to personal, professional development in order to adapt effectively to ongoing change
  • Present a positive and professional image to represent nursing and the organization
Care Delivery
  • Follow the care plan as established and delegated by the Registered Nurse
  • Receive report from the Registered Nurse
  • Ensures a culture of safety
  • Identify and reports malfunctioning/expired equipment and supplies
  • Ensure work areas and equipment are cleaned and stored appropriately
Qualifications include:
  • High School Diploma required
  • Successful completion of a CNA or first year Nursing School Program and successful completion of the CNA exam required
  • Maryland CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) License required
  • Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

Work Schedule:
  • Employment Type: Full-time
  • Hours per Week: 40 hrs/week
  • Typical Daily Schedule: 2:45 pm-11:15pm (3, 12-hour shifts per week - Within the 4-week schedule cycle,employee isexpected to work a minimum of three weekend shifts (1 Saturday, 1 Sunday and another weekend shift of your choice). Must also work 1 Monday and 1 Friday.)

Pay Range:

$19.21 - $24.90
