Job summary

Ardent Health Services in Tulsa, OK seeks a day shift, full-time Cardiology Specialty 4H Patient Care Technician (PCT) to support patient care on a busy hospital unit.

Under moderate supervision, you will assist patients with ADLs, monitor vital signs, obtain specimens, and transport supplies while collaborating with RNs.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and BLS certification within 14 days of hire; CNA/PCT or paramedic certification preferred or nursing school enrollment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assists patients with daily activities (bathing, dressing, eating) under supervision.
• Observes patients and reports to RN or medical staff.
• Obtains and records vital signs and collects specimens for labs.
• Provides basic patient transport and housekeeping duties.
• Records intake/output and assists with range of motion as needed.

Learn About a Day in the Life of a PCT:

• Works under moderate supervision of nursing and medical staff to perform all duties of a PCT, which include assisting patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, eating, and other ADLs.
• Observes patients’ progress to prepare and disseminate reports to Registered Nurse or other medical staff.
• Obtains and records patients' vital signs and collects specimens for lab tests.
• Provides basic patient transport and housekeeping duties.
• Additionally, this position measures and records patients' intake and output and other measurements in accordance with unit routines and assists patients with range of motion.

Job Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Preferred Requirements:

• Completion of approved CNA, PCT or paramedic certification or currently enrolled in nursing school preferred.
• Minimum of two years of experience in acute or long-term care preferred.
• Demonstrated proficiency in phlebotomy preferred.
