Job summary

UAB St. Vincent's Birmingham is seeking healthcare team members to provide basic clinical and non-clinical patient care under supervision in the 5 South Tower Ortho unit. Positions offer Full Time Day and Night shifts, with every third weekend rotation, and location at UAB St.

Vincent's Birmingham. Responsibilities include assisting patients with ambulation, activities of daily living, documenting changes, and helping with basic procedures under supervision.

Qualifications

• Licensure / Certification / Registration: BLS Provider obtained within 1 month of hire date; American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Education: High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic clinical and non-clinical patient care activities under supervision.
• Assist patients with ambulation as necessary, including moving to rooms or to vehicles.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living and personal care.
• Report changes to nursing staff and document records.
• Keep patient rooms clean and equipment maintained.
• Assist with oxygen setup, Foley care, pulse oximetry and EKGs as directed.
• Obtain and record vitals, weight, intake and output.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
