Job summary

Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic is seeking a Patient Care Technician to deliver direct patient care in collaboration with the Registered Nurse. Duties include phlebotomy and EKG, and the role requires accountability for the care delivered.

The schedule is 36 hours per week on rotating shifts (7:00am–7:30pm and 7:00pm–7:30am) with every other weekend and holidays; initial training is during the day. Requirements include a High School diploma or equivalent, basic computer skills, and current BLS/CPR

Position Summary

Delivers direct patient care in collaboration with the Registered Nurse. Performs tasks that do not require nursing judgements or administration of medications. Duties include, but not limited to: Phlebotomy and EKG. Is accountable for the patient care they deliver. Adheres to St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center standards of care and practice.

Education, Training, Experience, Certification and Licensure

High School diploma or equivalent is required. Medical background, mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity preferred. Basic computer skills required Participates in orientation and continuing education and updates and maintains knowledge and skills related to specific areas of expertise. Completes population specific competency annually on populations served as identified in scope of care and service.

Special Equipment, Skills or Other Requirements

Current BLS/CPR certification and First Aid training provided upon hire

Work Environment and Hazards

Office/Clinical setting. Exposure class I.

Physical Demands

Heavy work: requires standing, lifting, pulling, pushing and carrying.

Pay Range

Pay Range: $17.25 - $25.00 Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location
