Job summary

St. Bernards Healthcare in Jonesboro, AR is seeking a Patient Care Technician to perform assigned patient care activities and assist licensed nursing personnel under the direct supervision of the Patient Care Manager.

This role is on one shift and may require overtime and call-back as required by the facility. Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent, with either Nurse Aide certification or progress through an RN/LPN program using the nursing skills checklist.

Job description

Skills and proficiency in oral and written grammar, communication, and basic mathematics as acquired through official completion of high school or its equivalent. Ability to perform support activities in patient care as acquired through completion of an approved Vo-Tech program and certified as a Nurse Aide through the Office of Long Term Care or after completion of a minimum of one semester of an RN/LPN program with a nursing skills checklist completed by their nursing instructor. Candidates must be currently enrolled in an approved program to utilize the RN/LPN Nursing Student Skills Checklist. A year of PCT experience within the acute care setting will be considered in lieu of formal training.

Experience

Knowledge of patient care technician practices and related patient care activities and hospital policies and procedures as acquired through on-the-job training. Knowledge of basic non-technical skills as acquired through on-the-job training.

Physical

Normal hospital environment. Continuous exposure to biological hazards. Frequent exposure to unpleasant fumes and odors. Close eye work. Hearing within normal and soft tones. Distinguish smells. Distinguish temperatures by touch and proximity. Lifting up to 100 lbs. Carrying up to 40 lbs. Pushing/pulling up to 350 lbs. Frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping and reaching.

JOB SUMMARY
