Job summary

Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital in Athens, GA is seeking a Patient Care Tech for the Neuro/MedSurg unit. This full-time day shift position (7am–7pm) offers a fast-paced inpatient environment on a dedicated Stroke center floor that provides comprehensive training and mentorship by a multidisciplinary team.

The role supports nursing care across birth to lifecycle, with orientation pairing new staff to qualified preceptors to ensure successful integration into the Neuro team.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED preferred.
• No experience required; 1 year of patient care experience preferred.
• BCLS required upon hire; CNA certification preferred; PCT program certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• The Patient Care Tech, under the supervision of licensed clinical staff, provides care to patients from birth through the lifecycle, demonstrating competency with treatments, procedures and equipment appropriate to the clinical setting and hospital policy.
• Patient ratios vary with volume and acuity; extreasing circumstances may affect ratios.

Piedmont Athens Regional, a primary Stroke center, is home to a DNV Stroke Certified Neuroscience floor. It is a 30-bed acute care facility that specializes in Stroke, Spinal injuries, head injuries, and pre & post-op surgical needs.

This is a fast-paced, inpatient unit that cares for patients along the continuum of their recovery. Our team of staff on the Neuro floor is supported by a Stroke Coordinator, PT/OT, Respiratory Therapy, Physicians, Case Management, Social Work, Secretary, Phlebotomy, lift team, IV team, STAT team, and Pharmacy. Our comprehensive orientation period pairs both experienced and new staff with a qualified preceptor that helps with goal setting and training to ensure your success as part of the Neuro Team.

The Neurology unit provides nursing care to patients utilizing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care for patients. He/she functions within the framework of the policies and procedures of the organization and demonstrates professional growth and accountability.

Responsibilities:
