Job summary

Beacon Health Options in Kalamazoo, MI seeks a part-time patient care assistant for night shifts (7pm–7:30am), averaging 24 hours per week including every 3rd weekend/holiday. You will perform basic clinical and non-clinical patient care under supervision, aiding movement, personal care, and daily living activities.

Responsibilities include reporting changes to nursing staff, documenting records, maintaining clean rooms, and equipment. BLS certification within 30 days is required or available.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent, or 1 year of relevant experience.
• Note: required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
• BLS certification or equivalent within 1 month of hire (if applicable).

Performs basic clinical and non-clinical patient care activities under supervision.

Responsibilities:

• Aids with movement and placement of patients.
• Assists patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living.
• Reports findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to nursing staff. Documents necessary records.
• Keeps patient rooms clean, orderly, and maintains medical equipment.

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Required Credential(s):
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education:

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
