Job summary

Texoma Medical Center, a 414-bed acute care facility in Denison, Texas, seeks compassionate team members to assist nurses in meeting patients' physical and psychosocial needs.

Under supervision, you will perform routine tasks, provide direct care within defined competencies, and handle additional duties as assigned, with training in BLS and other required courses provided during onboarding.

Qualifications

• Reading and numerical competency. Must possess competency in use of technology and computers.
• Previous care giving experience preferred. Must have the ability to demonstrate basic care giving skills and essential job functions.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) Healthcare Provider course according to RQI program guidelines and all required ECC Healthcare Provider courses will be provided during new hire orientation or upon transfer, and must be completed prior to working in a clinical setting. Must successfully complete "Handle with Care" within 6 months of hire/transfer, and annually thereafter.
• Must have effective communication and time management skills. Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care/service appropriate to the age of the patients served on the assigned unit/department and reports patient welfare, safety and security to RN.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients under licensed nurse supervision to meet physical and psychosocial needs.
• Perform tasks as competency documentation designates with direct care.
• Provide direct care with limited invasive procedures.
• Carry out other duties as assigned.
