Job summary

Piedmont Walton Hospital is hiring a Patient Care Tech for our 24-bed Medical-Surgical unit. You will work under licensed staff, delivering hands-on care to adults including orthopedic, general, bariatric surgeries, and complex medical cases, with RN-to-patient ratios around 1:5-6 and PCTs at 1:6-9, fostering teamwork and growth.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED preferred.
• No experience required; 1 year patient care experience preferred.
• BCLS - Basic Life Support required upon hire.
• CNA certification preferred.
• Certification from a Patient Care Technician program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide care to patients from birth through the lifecycle under the supervision of licensed clinical staff, demonstrating competency with treatments, procedures and equipment per hospital policy.
• Support with IV starts, bedside procedures, wound care, NGTs and chest tubes, blood transfusions, and post-op/central line/colostomy care where applicable.
• Assist with floating to other units as needed to support hospital operations.
