Emory Healthcare is seeking a Patient Care Tech for night shift (7:00pm–7:00am) in Georgia. The role involves assisting with ADLs, specimen collection, patient transport, vital signs, and unit-specific tasks under supervision.

Requires a high school diploma or GED and at least 1 year of hospital experience, plus current BLS certification. The candidate will contribute to Emory Healthcare’s mission and patient-focused care, with emphasis on documentation, medical terminology, and collaboration

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One year of experience as a patient care tech (or similar title) in a hospital.
• Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC) required; ortho training as mandated by policy.

Responsabilités

• Assist with activities of daily living and specimen collection (non-invasive).
• Transport patients (unmonitored) and prepare patients for procedures.
• Record vital signs and assist with unit-specific procedures and tasks.

Work Shift:

Night - 12 Hour (United States of America)7:00pm - 7:00am (36 Weekly Hours)

Provides patient care under the supervision of the Staff Nurse to include but not limited to assisting with ADL’s specimen collection (non-invasive),transportation of patients (unmonitored), patient preparation for procedures, collection of vital signs and unit specific procedures and tasks which require documented competencies. Responsible for fulfillment of Emory Healthcare mission, values, and quality commitment. Participates as a team member to ensure appropriate resources are available to all internal and external customers.

Education & Training:

High school graduate or GED equivalent.

Experience:

One (1) year experience as a patient care tech (or similar title) in a hospital.

Required Certification/Registration/Licensure:

Current AHA/ARC BLS certification. Must obtain and maintain required ortho education/training as mandated in the Emory Healthcare Joint Destination Center of Excellence Policy.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Medical terminology, hospital professional services, documentation, and various departmental responsibilities, anatomy and physiology, infection control, vital signs, medical records (charting and obtaining health histories), assistance with physical exams, specimen collection, patient-focused care, dressing changes (clean and sterile).
