Job summary

Trinity Health is seeking a Patient Care Assistant in an on-site Ohio facility to support licensed staff with routine patient care and monitoring. Under RN supervision, you will perform EKGs, phlebotomy, vital signs, and post-procedure tasks, while ensuring safety and compassionate communication with patients and families.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Coursework including basic patient care, EKG and phlebotomy preferred.
• Previous patient care experience and health-related training preferred.
• Ability to work under pressure and take direction from multiple sources.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• BLS healthcare provider certification required.

Responsibilities

• Under RN direction, deliver patient care for assigned patients, including vital signs, measurements, activities of daily living, and admission preparation.
• Perform EKG lead placement and basic phlebotomy as assigned.
• Ensure accurate documentation and timely reporting of observations to RN or physician.
• Maintain patient safety, environment, and equipment, including post-procedure cleanup.
• Communicate with patients and families, providing updates and responding to requests.
• Assist in triage, data collection, and coordination with care team.
