Job summary

Sentara Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician for a full-time night shift in Woodbridge, VA. The role involves direct patient care under the supervision of a licensed nurse, assisting with admissions and discharges, and following safety protocols in a fast-paced hospital environment.

The ideal candidate will have a HS diploma and relevant CNA/NCMA/NCPCT training, with hospital experience preferred. Weekend rotation and holidays may be required.

Qualifications

• Must have HS Diploma and one of the listed certifications (CNA, NCMA, NCPCT) or equivalent.
• Experience as PCT or Nursing Assistant preferred.
• Current student enrolled in a clinical program with RN/LPN/RT/PT experience preferred.
• Hospital experience within last three years is strongly preferred.

City/State: Woodbridge, VA. Work Shift: Third (Nights). Overview: Patient Care Tech - FT Night Shift, Three 12-hour shifts including rotating weekends and holidays.

Job Overview

Patient Care Technicians are unlicensed staff members who are accountable to, and work under the direct supervision of a professional nurse to implement delegated aspects of nursing care. Provide patient care, support the admissions and discharge process, and comply with patient safety practices under the direction of the professional nurse. Observe patients' physical, mental, and emotional conditions and report any change to the nursing.

Education and Certification

Must have a HS Diploma and one of the following: Sentara Care Partner Certification Program Successful completion of the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) National Patient Care Technician (NCPCT), completion of US Navy Hospital Corps School, Emergency Services to include EMR, EMS, EMT, AEMT and Paramedic Current student enrolled in a clinical program having completed at least one semester of a (RN, LPN, RT or PT) Current work experience within last three years as a PCT or Nursing Assistant. Experience 1 year of Hospital Exp. (Strongly Preferred)

Compensation and Benefits

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $18.93 - $27.41 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
