Overview

Sentara Martha Jefferson is hiring a Patient Care Supervisor - Registered Nurse for a full time, night shift in Charlottesville, VA. The Supervisor, Nursing and Patient Care Services is responsible for overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of the healthcare facility during the shift, ensuring high-quality patient care, safety, and staff efficiency. This position serves as the primary liaison between departments, providing leadership, direction, and support to nursing staff, physicians, and other healthcare providers. The Supervisor is also tasked with coordinating patient flow, managing staffing levels, responding to emergencies, and addressing any operational issues that may arise throughout the shift.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations during the shift to ensure safe, efficient patient care.
• Serve as the primary liaison between departments, providing leadership and support to nursing staff, physicians, and other healthcare providers.
• Coordinate patient flow and staffing, respond to emergencies, and address operational issues as they arise during the shift.

Education

• Bachelor of Science Nursing (BSN) required
• MSN (Preferred)

Certification/Licensure

• Registered Nurse license (Required)
• BLS required within 90 days of hire
• ACLS required within 90 days of hire
• PALS required within 90 days of hire
• Professional specialty nursing certification preferred

Experience

• 2 years of acute care RN experience (required)
• 1 year of nursing leadership experience (required)
• Experience in Emergency room or Critical care areas preferred
• Strong written and oral communication skills (required)
