Job summary

BJC Home Care is seeking a RN leader to supervise the hospice nursing team, overseeing daily client care and staff activities in the Missouri region. The role requires an RN license, ADN minimum with 5-10 years of nursing experience and a track record in supervision.

On-call and holiday rotation are expected as part of the schedule. The supervisor will ensure compliance with Medicare/Medicaid and department standards and will coordinate services with other healthcare providers to maintain

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) is required.
• RN license is required.
• 5-10 years nursing experience at least.
• Supervisor experience of <2 years minimum; preferred 2-5 years.

Responsibilities

• Manages nursing staff including hiring, training, assigning work, evaluating performance and developing staff.
• May participate in departmental staffing, revenue and expense budgets and ensure budget goals are met.
• Directs daily client care and staff activities and acts as clinical resource on-site.
• Conducts on-site supervisory visits and coordinates with other health care providers.

Overview

BJC Home Care offers patients and their families a complete range of home care services, including skilled nursing services, adult and pediatric hospice and supportive care, rehabilitation therapy, home infusion therapy, infusion treatment rooms, home medical equipment and high-tech respiratory care. Hospice, the final stage of BJC's continuum of care, is a special kind of caring for patients with a life-limiting illness. Services are provided in the comfort of the patient's home or skilled nursing facility. The Hospice staff are sensitive to the physical, psychosocial, emotional and spiritual needs of terminally ill adult and pediatric patients and their families. We provide a multi-disciplinary team of healthcare professionals and volunteers, specially trained in symptom management, pain control, counseling and bereavement services for the dying. Our Hospice services include alternative therapies such as music, art and massage therapy. Our Hospice programs provide palliative care by helping patients manage their pain and symptoms while living their lives with daily peace and dignity.

Role Purpose

Monitors and coordinates nursing and clinical services. Ensures services meet Medicare/Medicaid, TJC and department requirements.

Responsibilities

• Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: hires, trains, assigns work, manages & evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.
• May participate in the development of departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets and having direct responsibility for adhering to those goals. This includes responding to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals.
• Manages and directs daily client care and staff activities.
• Performs on-site supervisory visits and serves as clinical resource to home care staff.
• Manages the hiring and performance management of staff.
• Coordinates services with other health care providers.
