Qualifications

• Graduate of a medical assistant program or nursing school.
• MA candidates must be able to obtain certification.
• Prior experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and prepares them for physician’s examination.
• Screens patients for appropriate information and instructs on sample collection.
• Administers prescribed medications and treatments within licensed practical nursing standards.
• Maintains and assists with equipment and aids physicians during treatment, examination, and testing.
• Handles telephone inquiries about test results, medications and instructions as directed by the physician.
• Arranges hospitalization, referrals, or performance of special procedures for patients.
• Maintains a clean, attractive work area and stocks medical supplies.
• Cleans and sterilizes medical instruments and trays.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
