Job summary

PeopleOne Health in Florida is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide administrative and clinical support in our outpatient care facility. You will assist with patient care, perform basic procedures, manage records, and coordinate front-office tasks to improve the patient experience.

The role requires certification in medical assisting, CPR, phlebotomy, and active credentials from national boards; 2–5 years in a medical office preferred.

Qualifications

  • Must be a graduate of an approved Medical Assistant Program. Certification preferred. Graduates of a Licensed Practical Nursing program will also be considered.
  • Current Basic Life Support/AED Certification from an AHA-accredited provider.
  • Phlebotomy Certification: Required for all Medical Assistants who perform venipuncture or specimen collection.
  • Must hold an active credential from one of the following nationally recognized organizations: NHA – CPT; AMT – RPT; NCCT – NCPT; ASCP – PBT.
  • New hires without certification must obtain the required credential within 90 days of hire.
  • Child Clearance - Act 33
  • Criminal Clearance - Act 38
  • FBI Clearance - Act 73

Responsibilities

  • Member Success: Handle member inquiries, guide options for care, track outreach, and provide excellent customer service.
  • Front Office: Schedule appointments, manage calls, enter patient information, verify active membership, and handle prior authorizations.
  • Back Office: Record vital signs, assist with specimen collection and lab processes, prep exam rooms, and support physicians during procedures.
  • Other Duties: Maintain inventory and ensure center cleanliness and presentation.
