St. John Medical Center in Westlake is seeking Patient Care Nursing Assistants (PCNAs) to perform basic patient care tasks and clerical support as delegated by the RN. The role includes ADLs, vital signs, I&O, 12-lead ECG, and documentation in patient records.
Positions available include full-time and part-time with day or night shifts depending on current openings. Onboarding and training new team members is a core part of the role, ensuring safe and efficient unit operations.
Full-Time and Part-Time positions, day shift and night shift based on current openings
Possible units available: Emergency Department, 3 North and 3 South (med/surg), Step Down unit, MICU, Ortho, PACU, Central Nursing Administration
Day and Night shifts possibly available

The Patient Care Nursing Assistant (PCNA) completes patient care activities and provides clerical support as delegated by the RN. PCNAs perform duties including, but not limited to: ADLs, vital signs, I&O, 12-lead ECG, bladder scan, hygiene, and venipuncture (where applicable). Familiarity with using: Wheelchair, EKG equipment, patient assistive devices, and patient care equipment specific to assigned population. Assists with patient data collection and reporting. Maintains the patient record (in written and/or electronic format). Facilitates communication and efficient unit operations. Orients newly hired PCNAs.
