Job summary

Cookeville Medical Clinic in Byrdstown, TN seeks a Medical Assistant/Patient Services Specialist to support front and back office operations, ensuring timely patient check-ins, appointment scheduling, and accurate information in the EMR.

The ideal candidate has a High School Diploma or GED, 1–2 years in urgent or primary care, a valid driver's license, phlebotomy experience, and strong communication with providers and patients.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years recent experience in urgent or primary care setting.
• Must have a valid driver’s license & reliable transportation.
• Experience in phlebotomy/venipuncture.
• Ability to communicate effectively with Providers and others to resolve issues.
• Ability to demonstrate reliability and responsiveness to patients, families, and co-workers.

Responsibilities

• Check patients in and obtain patient information via the web-based on-site system.
• Schedule appointments and follow up on appointments as needed.
• Collect and post patient payments; print receipts.
• Perform insurance eligibility checks prior to patient visits.
• Answer all phone calls promptly, in a professional and courteous manner.
• Maintain EMR records and update demographics as needed.
• Perform phlebotomy and minor diagnostic tasks as required.
• Collaborate with providers and care team to ensure quality care.
