Job summary

University of Southern California, through Keck Medicine and Culinary Health Fund partnerships, seeks a Medical Assistant to support patient flow in Las Vegas clinics. You will prepare exam rooms, record vitals, assist with exams and minor procedures, and help coordinate tests and paperwork in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires HS diploma and Medical Assistant credential, BLS certification, familiarity with EHRs, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent
• Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant certificate/diploma program
• Ability to communicate effectively in English (verbal and written)
• BLS Healthcare Provider certification
• Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) or equivalent
• NV Medical Laboratory Personnel License (current or obtain within 30 days)

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to exam rooms and prepare charts with pertinent information.
• Record vital signs and medication lists; obtain blood samples when needed.
• Assist physicians with exams and minor procedures; perform EKGs.
• Schedule diagnostic tests ordered by the physician.
• Maintain infection control and a safe environment; manage inventories.
• Enter patient data into chart/EHR per standards; ensure privacy and confidentiality.
• Provide coverage for colleagues and coordinate with staff as needed.
