Job summary

Virtua Health in Marlton, NJ is seeking a Healthcare Equipment Technician to collect and clean patient care equipment and assist with environment of care rounds to support safe and efficient patient care.

You will ensure equipment is delivered within established priority guidelines and maintain device standards to support high clinical quality. HS Diploma or GED and healthcare experience with equipment knowledge are required, with opportunities in full- and part-time roles.

Qualifications

• Health care experience with knowledge of patient care equipment.
• HS Diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Collects soiled equipment and specialty carts throughout the facility and returns the equipment to designated area for cleaning.
• Terminally cleans equipment according to manufacturer’s recommendation and inspects equipment to assure patient safety. Returns equipment to proper storage locations.
• Performs physical inventory, requisitions and replenishes items to support equipment and specialty carts. Requisitions supply items utilizing Materials Management Information System.
• Locates equipment utilizing equipment tracking system.
• Documents and requisitions equipment rentals as needed.
• Documents equipment issues, repairs and location throughout the facility.
• Delivers specialty carts (i.e., code cart, isolation cart, urology cart), patient care equipment and equipment accessories within established priority guidelines.
• Assembles bedside patient traction upon request.
• Perinatal - Handles and transports specimens according to policies and procedures, assists with transporting and transferring of patients while using correct body mechanics.
