Job summary

OnePeak Medical is seeking a Patient Care Coordinator in Grants Pass, OR to be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, in person or by phone. You will deliver warm, professional service and help ensure a smooth experience from arrival through check-out.

You will register patients, verify insurance, manage appointments, assist with billing, and support the PCP in the chart. The role requires strong communication, confidentiality, multitasking, and a willingness to travel to other

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 6 months of customer service experience.
  • 6 months of front desk reception or scheduling experience in a medical office preferred.
  • PM/EHR experience is preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic computer skills.
  • Knowledge of medical billing and insurance payors preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide outstanding customer service with a warm welcome to patients and visitors.
  • Ensure PCP is listed correctly in the patient chart.
  • Adhere to policies including HIPAA confidentiality and password security.
  • Manage a multi-line phone system and schedule appointments.
  • Register patients and update demographic/insurance information and the patient portal.
  • Review schedules for appointment and visit readiness.
  • Verify patient information during scheduling and communicate required documentation changes.
  • Confirm payment method for each appointment and collect payments when needed.
  • Document payments and any reasons for non-payment in the EPM.
  • Maintain the reception area, waiting room, and files.
  • Address patient complaints with problem-solving and escalate when needed.
  • Attend department and clinical meetings as scheduled.
  • Complete end-of-day duties and any additional tasks.

Job Summary

As aPatient Care Coordinator, you will be the initial point of contact for patients and visitors, whether in person or over the phone. Your role is pivotal in maintaining high patient satisfaction through the delivery of exceptional customer service.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide outstanding customer service, offering a warm and positive welcome to patients and visitors, both in person and via phone.
  • Ensure accurate listing of the Primary Care Provider (PCP) in the patient’s chart.
  • Adhere to all OnePeak Medical policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook, including maintaining the confidentiality of restricted areas, key-less entry codes, and computer system passwords.
  • Manage a multi-line telephone system, routing calls, addressing general inquiries, and scheduling patient appointments.
  • Register patients and update their demographic and insurance information, as well as the patient portal.
  • Scrutinize schedules to guarantee accuracy in appointments and visit preparedness.
  • Always verify the accuracy of patient information during appointment scheduling, informing patients of any required documentation changes.
  • Confirm the correctness and update the method of payment (insurance or cash pay) at each appointment.
  • Collect payments when necessary, including copays, outstanding balances, or no-show fees, and document them in the EPM. If a patient cannot pay, document the reason.
  • Maintain the reception desk, waiting areas, and office files.
  • Utilize problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills when addressing patient complaints, directing them to appropriate leadership when necessary.
  • Attend department and clinical meetings as scheduled.
  • Complete end-of-day responsibilities.
  • Fulfill any additional responsibilities as required to support OnePeak Medical

Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent – r_equired_
