Job summary

Holy Cross Medical Group in Fort Lauderdale, FL is seeking a Patient Care Coordinator to ensure smooth patient flow, interview patients, verify demographic and financial information, and work within Trinity Health policies.

In this full-time role, you will verify insurance, obtain authorizations when applicable, update the IDX system, and communicate changes confidently, delivering compassionate, patient-centered service.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience: Minimum of 1 year experience in medical office setting; CPT/ICD9 knowledge preferred.
• Interpersonal skills and the ability to comply with Trinity Health policies and provide compassionate care.

• This is a Full-Time position with Holy Cross Medical Group working Monday - Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm with excellent benefits starting your first day of employment!

Position Summary:

• Patient Care Coordinator has many roles in their position. They ensure smooth patient flow throughout the day while multitasking and taking initiative. They interview patients prior to or on the first office visit to verify demographic and financial information, while working within HCMG/hospital policies and procedures.

What you will do:

• Demonstrates the ability to obtain information and interpret information in terms of the patient's needs.
• Confirms with patient any changes in address, phone number or insurance information.
• Verifies validity and coverage of insurance.
• Obtains HMO/PPO authorizations, if applicable.
• Enters all changes in the IDX System and documents any information regarding the account or patient information on the comment screen/sticky notes.

What you will need:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience: Minimum of 1 year experience in medical office setting and knowledge of CPT and ICD9 codes and health care insurance preferred. Good interpersonal skills for effective communication with patients, staff and visitors are necessary.
• Must possess the ability to comply with Trinity Health policies and procedures. Must possess a personal presence that is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity, and caring with the ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the philosophy, mission, vision, goals, and values of Trinity Health.

Working Conditions:

• Requires long periods of sitting at the front desk answering phones and checking in patients.
