Job summary

VCA Veterinary Specialists of CT is seeking a full-time Patient Care Attendant to join our team. We are a hospital that values a positive, energetic attitude, eagerness to learn, and strong teamwork as we provide progressive medicine with compassionate care for dogs and cats.

The position offers a full-time schedule with evenings and weekend hours, and a compensation range of $17–$19 per hour based on skill and experience.

Responsibilities

• Restrain animals for doctors and technicians.
• Administer medications under supervision of the technician.
• Assist with obtaining lab samples.

• Surgical pack preparation.
• Clean kennels and replace bedding for hospitalized patients.
• Offer food and water to hospitalized patients under supervision.

VCA Veterinary Specialists of CT is seeking a full time Patient Care Attendant to join our team! We are seeking an individual who is positive, energetic, eager to learn, and works well on a team.

Potential Schedule:

Full -Time Schedule:
Saturday Sunday 4pm -12am
Wed - Fri 2pm -10pm

Compensation

$17 – $19 / hr is based on skill set, and experience

About Us

Veterinary Specialists of CT is a state-of-the‑art medical facility providing a range of specialty, critical care and emergency services exclusively for dogs and cats. We deliver the best medical care for pets and the best experience for pet owners.

Duties include:

• Restraining animals for doctor and technician
• Administering medications under the supervision of the technician
• Assisting with obtaining lab samples
• Running labs on our in‑house machines (including learning how to troubleshoot machines)
• .Monitoring hospitalized patients during treatments and during surgery recovery.
• Surgical pack preparation.
• Cleaning kennels and replacing bedding for hospitalized patients
• Offering food and water to hospitalized patients under the supervision of the technician
• Walking hospitalized patients under the supervision of the technician
• Assisting with sedated or anesthetized procedures as needed (set up and break down, cleaning, moving patients in and out of O/R, etc.)
• General cleaning duties inside and outside the hospital, including laundry, sweeping/mopping, restocking medical supplies, maintaining medical equipment
• Other duties as assigned
