VCA Kingwood Animal Hospital is seeking a full-time Patient Care Attendant to join our team. We are looking for a positive, energetic, eager-to-learn individual who works well on a team in a fast-paced veterinary setting.

The ideal candidate will assist doctors and technicians, handle lab work and patient care, and contribute to a clean, compassionate hospital environment for dogs and cats.

Qualifications

• The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and be able to effectively communicate with others in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Restrain animals for doctor and technician
• Administer medications under supervision of the technician
• Assist with obtaining lab samples
• Run labs on in-house machines and learn troubleshooting
• Monitor hospitalized patients during treatments and recovery
• Prepare surgical packs
• Clean kennels and replace bedding for hospitalized patients
• Offer food and water to hospitalized patients under supervision
• Walk hospitalized patients under supervision
• Assist with sedated or anesthetized procedures and related setup/breakdown
• Perform general cleaning inside and outside the hospital, restocking supplies, and maintaining equipment
• Perform other duties as assigned

VCA Kingwood Animal Hospital is seeking a full time Patient Care Attendant to join our team! We are seeking an individual who is positive, energetic, eager to learn, and works well on a team.

About Us

VCA Kingwood is a state-of-the-art medical facility providing a range of specialty, critical care and emergency services exclusively for dogs and cats. We deliver the best medical care for pets and the best experience for pet owners.

Duties include:

• Restraining animals for doctor and technician
• Administering medications under the supervision of the technician
• Assisting with obtaining lab samples
• Running labs on our in-house machines (including learning how to troubleshoot machines)
• Monitoring hospitalized patients during treatments and during surgery recovery.
• Surgical pack preparation.
• Cleaning kennels and replacing bedding for hospitalized patients
• Offering food and water to hospitalized patients under the supervision of the technician
• Walking hospitalized patients under the supervision of the technician
• Assisting with sedated or anesthetized procedures as needed (set up and break down, cleaning, moving patients in and out of O/R, etc.)
• General cleaning duties inside and outside the hospital, including laundry, sweeping/mopping, restocking medical supplies, maintaining medical equipment
• Other duties as assigned
